C2BE: Center for Community based Enterprise

 withDetroit, a project of C2BE, is a mutual assistance network of metro Detroit businesses, organizations and individuals focused on growing a vibrant, robust local economy, creating good jobs and broadening local ownership.  Members agree to help each other however they can.  The purpose is to build an effective web of mutual support to help launch and improve emerging CBE businesses, and provide existing CBE businesses with shared resources to grow capacity and jobs.

Initially withDetroit will be organizing volunteers to help new business with site preparation and other startup activity, but depending on members’ needs, withDetroit may organize or provide support services such a:

• joint marketing/buy local campaigns
• bulk purchasing
• tool/equipment sharing
• architectural and design/build services
• shared support or back office services such as financial services, zoning assistance, mentoring, employee education, human resource management, group insurance, and business succession planning
