Speaker Series
The Center is hard at work organizing the upcoming Community-Based Enterprise Speaker Series.  Thanks to generous funding from the Skillman Foundation and LISC Detroit, the Speaker Series will be bringing examples and discussions of Community-Based Enterprise to neighborhoods throughout the city.  While planning is still in progress, session topics are expected to include establishing community-based supermarkets, small-plot urban farming, youth entrepreneurship, and applying the experiences of Spain's Mondragon Cooperative Corporation to Detroit.  If you are interested, you can download more details.

Welcome to C2BE
We proudly announce the creation of the Center for Community Based Enterprise in Detroit.  The Center’s vision is to make the City of Detroit and its neighborhoods a national applied innovation lab for community based wealth creation strategies. Its mission is to develop, prototype, and launch strategies to create and support community based enterprises in Detroit; and to create leading edge information products to enable community based enterprises everywhere.
